Seaway Run 2008

Lisie Rae and I ran together until the last 150 meters when Lisie sprinted to the finish in a 5K personal record time of 28:06 (9:02.67 ppm), and I was close behind in 28:11 (9:04.28 ppm), also a modern day 5K p.r. Lisie was 14th out of 40 in her age group, and I was 11th out of 17 in mine. Our first mile was 9:21 and second mile was 9:06 (18:27). The pace for the final 1.1 miles really picked up to 8:46 ppm (Lisie) and 8:51 ppm for me. Weather was sunny and warm, but the heat was really not felt until the last mile when it got hot with no shade. Both of us met our race goals so we were very satisfied.
