4 x 1 mile repeats

I had a good work-out doing 4 x 1 mile repeats with 3:00 standing rest in between.  Raj met me at IWU and we did them on the track.  The only bad part was the heat.  As Raj put it during mile 3, we felt like we were inside an oven.  It was mid-80s at least, if not hotter, and the sun was beating down on us.  I gave it 100% and tried to do the repeats as fast as I could.  Raj did the first 3 with me, but I did the last one on my own because his foot was hurting.  I was able to maintain a steady pace this time, which I credit Raj with because I think he really helps me with that.  I also was able to keep all my times consistent, instead of increasing (getting slower) each mile.

Times:  Mile 1 -  8:51, Mile 2 - 8:49, Mile 3 - 8:59, and Mile 4 - 8:54.

Good job being more consistent... that means you are not only getting in better shape but your body is getting used to pacing.

Forgot to add that the second to last interval is always the toughest because you're the most tired and you don't have the adrenaline that often gets you through the last one. Whenever you're doing a workout like this always concentrate on that second to last interval. I try to convince myself that the second to last one IS the last one because the last one is usually the easiest because you know after that you're done!
