easy 4 miles

Ran an easy 4 miles this morning at Silver Lake. Temp was 70 degrees and humidity 83%. Probably very similar to the conditions we'll have in Fremont Saturday. First and second miles weren't too bad (10:02 and 10:04), but then P.J.'s "blueberry buckle" dessert kicked in. P.J. is visiting us for 2 nights, and she brought a big pan of her famous "b-berry buckle". Mom gave me a huge serving with vanilla ice cream about 9:30 last night. Anyway, my time for the last 2 miles deteriorated to 10:15 and 10:27. Total time was 40:48 (10:12 ppm). I made up for it by doing 3 x 15 sec strideouts followed by 3 x 20 sec strideouts.

Chuck, I've enjoyed reading your internet running diary these past few weeks. I hope to see you compete in the Labor Day 10K!

Thanks for the comment, cattletracks7. We'll have to see about the Labor Day race. Don't know if I am ready for the home crowd yet. By the way, how did you find me?

I heard about the diary from someone who has a friend in Leta's walking group. I'm headed up to Gaylord to do the Alpenfest 12K run this weekend. Beautiful course they have, although I still think the lake in Cadillac makes the most beautiful course (you should really try it). Glad to see you are enjoying your retirement!

Dear Cattletracks7,
As much as I am thrilled to have a "lurker" now that you've taken it upon yourself to actually comment, I think it's only fair that you identify yourself. This was meant to be a private blog, and I know all 3 of us are very upset that others have been viewing it without us knowing. Who are you???
