Hershey Hills

I did 7 miles tonight.  Same routine as previous -- ran to trail, did 5 miles of hills (took 20 sec break after each hill and drank water and stopped clock), then ran back home.  Total time running was 68:02.  My first 2 hills kind of sucked, and then I kicked it into gear.  I have been a little down and depressed about failing to see any physical results of the training.  Raj got this new scale that measures everything -- body fat, body water, metabolism, bone density, etc. and one of the readings said I have the metabolism of a 45 year old.  This was very depressing to me. I feel like it is hopeless sometimes.  Anyways, I was thinking about these things during the first 2 hills, and then I sort of kicked myself in the butt and said just run as fast as you can anyways, and I really picked it up for the last 3 hills.

My times up hill:  4:29, 4:26, 4:15, 4:22, 4:15.

Finishing that last one at 4:15 was killer.  Plus I knew I was going to run home.  I feel totally worn out tonight.  Going to bed after this post.  Not sure if I'll be able to do much tomorrow morning, even though it's supposed to be an "easy" run.

This hill workout was better than your last one. Good job.

You keep getting faster so there must be some physical results. Just keep pluggin' away. As the mileage keeps going up more results might come. Mixing in some weight lifting would also help a lot.
