Wednesday workout
Coach Chippens wanted me to run 4 miles this morning, the first mile in 9:30 and each mile increasingly faster with the last mile under 9:00, if possible. I didn't do too well. My first mile was 9:14, the second mile was 9:38, the 3rd 9:56, and I ran/walked the last mile in 11:38. I could have a lot of excuses, like coming upon Uncle Leo to my dismay at my 2 mile turn around and he trying to carry on a conversation as I was trying to get my breath, but the bottom line is my legs gave out. My motivation is at a low ebb because I don't think I have a race on 8/9. I did give a maximum effort, though, and as coach says, this effort is never wasted.

Don't feel bad dad. I have a race on the 9th and I am still feeling low motivation. I was going to do my run this morning, but I couldn't get out of bed. I have to do it tonight now. Uncle Leo is not a good excuse though. You should have run faster so he couldn't keep up with you!
