6 mile run

My assignment was 4 easy + 2 fast, but I could not do it.  This is the first work-out where I have not been able to do what I was supposed to do.  My legs had nothing left from yesterday, and my calves and knees were really sore.  I wanted to just quit and walk, but at least I did not stop and ran the full 6 miles.  A bug flew into my mouth during the last mile and I stopped and went to someone's sprinkler and tried to wash out my mouth.  That's the extra time on the last mile.  It was really disgusting.

My splits:  9:37, 10:07, 10:07, 10:07, 9:58, 10:16

Sometimes there are days like this. The last time I trained hard, in 2006, I had a workout that I couldn't do on a Monday. I thought I was toast; my comment in my log was "just no good right now." I was so worried about it that on the next day, Tuesday, I ran 4 in the morning and 3 in the evening just to see if it was running in the morning that was screwing me up. I ran faster in the evening but I fell on KL Avenue and scraped up my entire body. I barely made it back to the house. Then that Saturday I proceeded to run my best 5k of the season (16:55).

I think you did well considering the effort we put forth yesterday. I ache all over today. Chip is right, tomorrow you will probably feel great.
