Good job, Dad, with the run today and with your mileage this month. 99 miles is good. If not for Beijing, you'd stand a good shot of getting in the 300 club as well.
It doesn't sound like your groin is too bad, just some tightness. 3 weeks in China should cure it, that's the blessing in disguise maybe. You'll be fresh when you get back. I think you've also got a great shot at breaking 10 ppm for the half-marathon.
