early morning run at the lake
I beat the sand fleas to the punch again this morning and ran 3 miles easy very early. As I loosened up, I continued to feel better. The weather was very cool and cloudy with little wind. I judged my pace by my breathing. If I could have carried on a conversation without breathing hard, I determined the pace to be "easy". Total time was 29:57 (9:59 ppm). Miles got progressively faster (10:10; 10:05; 9:42). Last mile was just a little too fast.

Looks like you're getting in a groove.
I still must warn you though, going too fast on easy runs can have a cumulative effect even if it seems like you are handling it well. It might not be for three weeks or a month, but eventually it will catch up to you. Try not to go under 10, and definitely not under 9:45 until you break 27:57 for a 5k. Be happy that you have this energy, and store it for the hard days and the races.
