Same as Monday

Same run as Monday. Time was slower, 16:14.

"Spring" has arrived in central Illinois--79 degrees and 40 mph winds.

race pace intervals

I ran 20 minutes of race pace intervals this morning: 2 min. hard followed by 1 min. walking rest. Finished with 5 minute cool down. PPM for the 20 minutes hard was 9:52 (includes walking rest). 5 minute cool down was 10:38 ppm. Total distance covered for 25 minutes was 2.51 miles (10:01 ppm).

40 minutes easy

Went out this morning at our condo in Orlando for an easy run at 8:30 a.m. Wasn't sure how I would feel after 2 days off so I played it by ear. Temp was 56 degrees and sunny. Ideal running weather. Legs felt strong from the weight lifting, but I took it easy. Stopped at 40 minutes even though I could have done more. Breathing was still easy. Covered 3.83 miles in 40:01 (10:27 ppm). Will lift weights for my legs after breakfast.

Aruba review------March 13-27

Mom and I ran nearly every day in Aruba. We worked our way up to six 4/2 intervals (4 min. jog/2 min. rest). PPM was 12:17. It was hot running, as usual. My best longest run was 2.5 miles at a PPM of 10:39, which was at the very end of our stay.

off day --traveling

We took an off day today. It is raining, and we are leaving for Orlando soon after 4 weeks on Marco Island. Tomorrow we fly to Aruba so Saturday will be an off day, too. Will run frequently on Aruba and log a lot of time in the lazy river for the next 2 weeks. It's tough, but I think I am up to it. Knee is much better since I've been on the leg weight machine here.

run with Val

Val and I went to the church driveway and back. I did 30 minutes of Wii before we left. She's knocking you all down in the snowball fight game right now. She hit Dad's Mii right on the head!

3.5 miles intervals + 2.0 mile walk

We did 3.5 miles of intervals on the beach this morning. Same routine -- 4 minutes jog followed by 2 minutes walk. Finished with 2 miles walking cool down.

Tuesday and today

5.5 miles of intervals Tuesday. Mom and I ran 4 minutes and walked 2 minutes the entire distance. Today we walked 5.5 miles.

Run + Wii

New distance to the driveway of the church. 12:51. When I got home, I did 30 minutes on the Wii Fit Plus. Good workout.

3 mile long run on the beach

While Mom took a walk with Devin's mom, I did a 3 mile long run on the beach. Went out too fast in the first mile at 10:30 and slowed down considerably the last 2 miles in order to finish. Time was 32:15 (10:45 ppm).

Mom and I walked 6 miles this a.m. to the Farmer's Market and then 2 more miles on the beach this afternoon. Too cool to lounge by the pool.

5.5 miles intervals on the beach

Mom and I did intervals on the beach this a.m. The first 2.75 miles we ran 4 minutes and walked 3 minutes. Time was 33:25 (12:09 ppm), which was almost the exact time as yesterday. On the way back we ran a minute then walked a minute. PPM on the return trip was about 13:41. Total time for the 5.5 miles was 71:00 (12:55 ppm).

Mom and I did 2.75 miles of intervals on the beach this a.m. We ran 4 minutes up tempo and then walked 3 minutes. Total time was 33:20(12:07 ppm).

Worked out in the pool for 45 minutes (with my Hawaiian White Tiger swim mitts) and later walked 4 miles on the beach with Mom.

2.7 miles easy then 2.7 mile cool down

Mom and I did 2.7 miles easy on the beach and then a 2.7 mile cool down walk, also on the beach. My ppm for the easy jog was 11:17. Bad left knee, now bad left ankle, and overweight equals slowness. Thank goodness I have 3 months to the Asparagus Run. Mom did the entire 2.7 mile easy jog, a little slower than me but not much.
