Caddy style

Easy 3 in Cadillac in 21:39. Found some pictures for the wedding slideshow (along with some amusing ones that I don't think will make the cut) and closed a bank account. Leaving shortly to return to the lake after I hit up G&D.

Weighed in at 168.5 on Dad's scale after run.

Long (hot) run

I slept in today and paid the price when I did my run. It was 75 when I left and 80 when I finished. I dropped 3.5 pounds during the run, 173.5 to 170.

I ran 7.6 miles in 51:46 (6:48.6 ppm). I did the 4.2 loop (28:59 - 6:54 ppm) plus the 3.4 loop (22:47 - 6:42 ppm). I ran the last 1.2 in 7:45 (6:27.5 ppm), which is the same as the second and last 1.2 of my first hard run of the year on May 4.

I hit the pacing just about right. I was definitely spent when I finished, and it was getting quite warm.

Hershey Hills

1.2 warm up + 3 Hershey Hills in 2:55, 2:53, 2:55 + 1.2 cool down for 5.4 total in 38:00. Was going to do 4 hills, but it was close to 90 degrees out and I was getting the chills after the third one. I'm glad I stopped because I barely made it home!

weighed 172 before run and 169 after.

Easy run

4.2 easy in 30:13 (7:11.6 ppm). Shin starting to hurt again. I need new shoes! I've had these for a year now and they are worn out.

Weight was 173 this morning, 172.5 after run.

Time for a break?

Did two Hershey Hills this morning... 2:58 and 3:08. Total time was 32:45 for the 4.4 miles. Felt really fatigued this morning as that 10 second drop off indicates. I might be overdoing it a little bit and getting worn down. I've run 27 days in a row, so I might run tomorrow to make it a full 4 weeks straight and then take Friday and Saturday off.

Weight was 175 before run, 173 after.

Miserable

4.2 miles around the block. 30:56 (7:22 ppm). Felt really horrible today. It was ghastly humid out, and I had a hard time breathing again.

Weight was 176 before run and 173.5 after.

Hills

Mini hill workout today. 1.2 warm up in 8:51, then 1 Hershey Hill in 3:06. Easy rest of the way back for 3.4 total in 24:47. The slow and steady build up continues.

Weighed 176 this morning, down about 2 pounds from where I was when I started working out. I'm also averaging about 1 lb a week in weight loss. Would like to get down to about 165.

Lowest recorded weight last summer was 167.5 on August 20, but that was after a 6.6 mile hard run in 88 degree heat.

On September 21, I weighed in at 169.5 after a run, so I probably put on 6-7 lbs. over the winter.

Easy run

4.2 easy today in Bloomington in 29:36 (7:02 ppm). It was hot out and the run felt way harder than it should have. It cleared up my sinuses a bit though. I did a nice snot rocket into the McCain lawn. Weighed 169.5 after the run so I haven't gained any weight.

Long intervals

There was a high of 88 today in Bloomington and I think when I ran at 4:15 it had just about reached that point.

Did 1.25 mile warm up, then 3 x 8:00 hard with 1:00 jogging rest. Same as last Monday, but I think I made it a tad farther this time so that is good I guess. Probably just fresher though, but the heat could be an equalizer. I'm surprised I made it farther because I was really dying in the heat. Total was 6.6 miles in 44:31 (6:44 ppm). Last week my time was 45:43 for the same course.

Took a shower as cold as it could go afterward and that felt great. My weight was 167.5 after the run, the lowest it's been yet and two pounds less than after yesterday's run. I must have lost a lot of water.

6 easy

6 miles easy tonight in Cadillac, 42:59 (7:10 ppm). Legs are totally shot and went way too fast on this easy run, which is a problem for me.

Foley used to get after me for it, I did it in college, and it is apparently still a problem. I don't know why I do it but I always do, and now I'm paying for it because my shin and leg injuries which haven't bothered me for a couple weeks are back in a big way. 3 mile split tonight was 20:47. Last mile was 7:59 because I was shot.

If my shin hurts tomorrow I may consider taking it off. Haven't had a day off in 17 days.

Filling up the bathtub now with water as cold as it will go, which is what I used to do in high school .... ooh that's chilly.

Weight was 167.5 on Dad's scale after run, so I dropped another two pounds this week. Pulse today in the doctor's office was 52 and the nurse was concerned. I told her it was normal. TSH was in the middle of the "normal" range, but up from last July, meaning my levels have gone down but are still considered normal. Sometimes I forget to take my meds so I'm not too worried about it.

Monthly mileage total for July coming when I get back to Bellaire and my log book.

July Total: 125.45

Please post your monthly totals for June and July also.

3 in cadillac

3 easy in Cadillac, 22:00. Legs don't feel that great. It looks like I'll be running the 1ok after all. I meant to check while I was in Cadillac and forgot, but I don't think I've run a 10k since the labor day 10k in 1998. I'm not sure what my time was but for some reason 38:30 rings a bell. Anyway, I haven't run a 10k since then and I've only run two in my life, the other one being the labor day 10k in 1997. I'll post my goal tomorrow.

Weighed myself on Dad's scale after the run and I'm down to 169.5. I was 170 last week. My ideal weight is probably 160-165.

Post 101

Congrats, Lisa, you were the 100th post to the blog.

I ran 2 easy tonight in Cadillac. I stopped over on my way to Kalamazoo. It was 90 and humid all day in Bellaire. I noticed it was cooler in Cadillac so I made that my plan. Ran 2 miles in 14:43 (7:25, 7:18). Legs were totally dead and achey. I think running in the heat every day is just killing me. What I'm missing is an ice bath. I need an ice bath after these runs.

Stepped on dad's scale after the run and I was 170. Last Thursday I was 172. At Easter I was 178. A few weeks ago when I was in Cadillac it was like 174 or 175 and a half. Can't remember.
