ÔOrgasmÕ Comes Out Ahead

Wildcats vs. Wolverines & Badgers

Two Huskies Vie For Top Dog

To the chagrin of decent-minded folks everywhere (and their children), Longing For Gus JohnsonÕs Orgasms (Matthew Melick) has implanted himself at the top of the standings as we go into the Elite 8 round this weekend. ÒOrgasmsÓ has thus proved to be the stain that just wonÕt rub out. Frankly, the rest of us are just lucky his lead is as slim as it is. He was the only player to pick Dayton to the Elite 8, and he was of a very small minority to have both Iowa State and San Diego State advancing. Had those latter two teams won, Orgasm would have a commanding lead.

As it is, however, he only leads based on the first tie-breaker, pick percentage. Monster (Derrick Mimms) also has 97 points. He was one of just six players to pick Kentucky into the Elite 8. Robjd3 (Robert DuPrau), currently in fourth place, is another one of the six. One more win out of Kentucky could vault him into the top spot in the standings. HeÕs one of just three players with Kentucky in the Final Four. Twenty-two players, including ÒOrgasmsÓ and three other players currently in the top 22 spots, have Michigan. The other contest that could cause a big swing in the standings is Arizona vs. Wisconsin. Bucky has 28 players in his camp, and Arizona has 65. The championship hopes of many players rests on this game. In the other two games, no one has Dayton over Florida and just one player, jprose24 (Jessica Stover), has UConn over Michigan State. Stover bounced back up to 20th place yesterday, but with Louisville, her tournament champ, out of the pictures, all her hopes now rest on the UConn Huskies.

Speaking of Huskies, there are two Huskies in the top 14 who both have a shot to win the title. Blizzard T. Huskey (Nicholas A. Schultz), currently in 12 place, will win it all if Michigan beats UConn in the final. The former champ also needs one more win out of Wisconsin. The other huskey, luckyhuskeydog (Rawley Huskey), is in 14th place and will win under nine different scenarios of the remaining 128 possible. Only robjd3 has better mathematical odds. HuskeyÕs Final Four is still completely intact. He has Florida, MSU, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

Many players still have a shot to win it all and many more have a shot at the prizes. IÕve updated Player Scenarios, so check it out to see who you have to root for in this weekendÕs games. I will be heading back to the U.S.A. from Aruba today, but I will get the standings updated when I can, certainly by tomorrow morning. Good luck!
